Requirements:  ·Recently retired from a senior government post, e.g. Secretary or Advisor
·Experience in planning and monitoring national Sexual and Reproductive Health programmes
·Proven track record in setting up or leading collaborations or networks for effective advocacy
·Deep understanding of national health and population policies and coordinating mechanisms.
The National Advisor will need to provide consultancy service equivalent to 60 working days in a year, to:
· Leverage links with key policy makers and opinion leaders in the Government, UNFPA, CIDA, the World Bank, USAID, WHO, etc. for focused and effective advocacy
· Provide advise and information on existing or possible RH Supplies coordination mechanisms, national essential drugs list, Government budget lines for RH supplies, and integration of RH supplies into financing mechanisms.
Key functions and responsibilities
1. Facilitate and lead meetings with ministers and senior government officials. Chair meetings of the External Advisory Group.
2. Orchestrate joint initiatives of various ministries, public-private bodies.
3. Endorse and value add to the evidence-based advocacy initiated by Project RMA partners
4. Provide planning and management support to the Project RMA Unit as and when necessary |
